My Story

THIS IS MY STORY

In the fall of 2006, H.O.M.E. became a part of the McKinley Tech High course catalog, as a Saturday class for young music industry hopefuls. During this six week course, Dennis introduced qualified professionals such as “Dipset” (hip-hop recording artist), “Mambo Sauce” (original go-go band), and “Mo Digga” formerly known as the VP of marketing for the Disturbing the Peace Imprint. Interested in expanding H.O.M.E.’s portfolio Dennis produced McKinley Tech’s homecoming dance in October 2007. This included booking the talent for the occasion & setting the time line for each artist performance.

In Sept.2008, Dennis was able to implement an event titled “Principal for the Day” at Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts located in Washington D.C. Dennis reached into his bag of tricks and brought in National Recording Artist “Chrisette Michele” as the honorary principal. In the course of that day, Chrisette was able to touch many of the students and staff. It was a memorable moment for Dennis to see Chrisette along with a few music dept. students write & record an original piece in Ellington’s state of art recording studio.

Two months later in Nov. 2008, “Kerry Gordy” (son of Barry Gordy) visited Ellington along with his new recording artist “Leigh Jones”. This was one of many events produced by Mr. Rado. Elated with Dennis’s productions, the principal of Ellington “Rory Pullens” suggested that H.O.M.E. Become a part of the curriculum for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year. In late November, Dennis provided a little PR to Hip-Hop Pioneer DMC of famed HIP-HOP Group Run-DMC on WTTG’S Fox 5 for National adoption week. Proud of how far H.O.M.E. has come since its beginning stages, Dennis is looking forward to the future.
